Tallow used in soap making PROVIDES:

• a very easy fat to use in soap making:
• traces quickly
• solidifies quickly
• a hard bar of soap due to the palmitic acid and stearic acid content
• a longer lasting bar of soap also due to the palmitic acid and stearic acid content
• a soap bar that does not melt away so quickly when wet
• a creamy and lush feeling lather
• a bar of soap that is a gentle yet effective cleanser
• a bar of soap that is very skin friendly making it very popular with persons that have various skin issues
• needed nutrients such as: A, D, K, & E, & B12 so consider incorporating a lye discount for your bar of soap or superfatting the bar of soap to take advantage of this ancient super healer

CONSIDERATIONS when Tallow is used in soap making:

• since Tallow is so gentle consider adding another oil that enhances the cleansing ability of the soap (but remember that the vegetable oils result in reduced whiteness of the Tallow bar of soap to yellowish), use an oil that compliments the properties of Tallow
• since Tallow is so, white is easy to incorporate color
• Grass-Fed or non Grass-Fed (consider Essential Depot's R.E.D. non Grass-Fed Beef Tallow)
• Grass-Fed provides more of the valuable nutrients but with less stability and more foaming than R.E.D. non Grass-Fed during the making process
• R.E.D. non Grass-Fed, however, provides more stability and less foam during the making process

If this is a problem, please do not order between May 01 - October 31. This product may not be solid at room temperature. If you require a product that is solid at room temperature then you should order the more expensive tallow rendered only from the kidney fat of the cattle.

Keep cool and refrigerate after opening. Use within 3 months of opening.

*Rendered tallow is known to be low risk with respect to BSE, as the BSE agent, a prion, is protein based and neither does it reside in the fat nor is it soluble. Due to the high level of processing and filtration it is extremely unlikely to present any risk of contamination.
