A small evergreen tree that produces a small, sour fruit very similar to the Lemon. The fruits themselves are green in color with a white-green fleshy interior.

ODOR/AROMA: Medium aroma. Less tangy than lemons, lime essential oil is light and fresh with a characteristic citrus tartness and slightly leafy undertone.

COMMON USES: Historically, just like lemons, limes were used to prevent sailors from developing scurvy.
CAUTIONS: For external use only. This Essential Oil has phototoxic properties and exposure to the sun must be avoided after application to the skin of a product containing this oil. May cause skin irritation in some individuals. A skin test is recommended prior to use, dilute prior to use. Contact with eyes should be avoided.
STORAGE: It is recommended that oils be packaged in colored glass or metal containers to protect the oil from air/light/moisture, keep it fresh, maintain the maximum shelf life, and for safe shipping.
