Also known as Narrow-Leaved Peppermint. The young trees have oval bluish-green leaves while the mature trees develop long, narrow, yellowish leaves, creamy-white flowers and a smooth, pale grey bark. Also known as Blue Gum, it’s an evergreen tree commonly found in Australia which grows from 30 to 55m tall. In the 1980s, the Eucalyptus species and its hybrids were planted commercially in South Africa for the production of pulp and paper, and various other forest products. It has slowly evolved toward the production of essential oils. Blends With: Basil, Cajeput, Cedarwood, Citronella, Ginger, Lavender, Lemon, Myrtle, Frankincense, Spearmint and Tea Tree. Also known as 'candy mint'. The minty sweetness of the vapor makes it one of the most popular Essential Oils. Once thought to be a species, but has been found to be a perennial hybrid that only proliferates by spreading its rhizomes underground. Very hearty and fast-growing herb with reddish veins and lightly fuzzy leaves that can grow virtually anywhere. Its interesting chromosome count can vary between 66 and 120 chromosomes. VOLUME: 5 kg ODOR/AROMA: A strong top note. Sharp, penetrating menthol scent based on its high menthol content. CONSISTENCY: thin KOSHER: Yes COMMON USES: Used as a fragrancing agent in soaps, candles, and toiletries. Known for its stimulating properties and is, therefore, very popular in foot treatments. CAUTIONS: Very high menthol content means this oil may crystalize. A small tree or shrub with needle-like leaves. Also domestically referred to as Ti-Tree. Can grow up to 7 meters (20 feet) in height and thrives in marshy areas, though it is now cultivated in plantations. Tea Tree is very robust and is ready for cutting only two years after its previous harvest. The aboriginal people of Australia have long used Tea Tree Oil. The defoaming agent in the R.E.D. Beef Tallow effectively controls and reduces the foam produced by beef tallow. Foam forms when gas is trapped in a liquid creating bubbles. Those bubbles can disrupt soaping process. The defoaming agent reduces the surface tension of the liquid which weakens and breaks the thin film around the trapped gas (the bubble). This causes the bubble to collapse and thereby reduces foam. Hence, a defoaming agent plays a crucial role in ensuring smooth operations and efficiency. Essential Depot's R.E.D. use of Dimethylpolysiloxane is revolutionary. Dimethylpolysiloxane is a silicone based defoamer. Just as with other chemicals, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) permits the use of BHT as a food additive, and it is listed as Generally Recognized as Safe (GRAS) when used within specified limits.
